Barcelona are wrapping up a deal for Slavia Sofia prospect Martin Georgiev.
Bulgarian press sources say Barça would be one step away from signing Georgiev, a 16-year-old central defender from Slavia Sofia who, despite his extreme youth, has already made his debut with the first team and is considered one of the emerging talents in Bulgarian football.
Ventsislav Stefanov, the president of Slavia Sofia, acknowledged that Barça is interested in signing Georgiev and that the negotiations are on the right track.
“FC Barcelona is very interested in Martin Georgiev. Soon he will probably be the third Bulgarian player to wear the Barcelona shirt,” said Stefanov .
Georgiev is expected to be initially registered with Barcelona B.
