Spain U21 coach Luis de la Fuente fears for Barcelona whizkid Ansu Fati over the expectations swirling around him.
De la Fuente says leaving Fati at home for the U17 World Cup was the right decision.
He explained, “He arrived with physical problems and I think we have managed him well so as not to take unnecessary risks.
“We have to handle the situation very carefully. He is a very young boy and the media pressure he receives is not natural or normal. So, we must manage his playing time intelligently.
“We must give him peace of mind to realise his full potential.”
De la Fuente added: “He is a normal and humble person. He wants to grow up and knows how to listen.”
