LIVE: Mexico vs Venezuela

10′ Another chance for Mexico and Raul Jimenez can’t turn his man in the box, sees his shot blocked away. This is one-way traffic for El Tri. Really a struggle for the South American visitors to get the ball away from their end.

8′ Rough challenge there. No booking. Rodriguez was trying to hold off a challenge and was barged through.

6′ Another shot on goal for Mexico, this time it’s Alvarado rolling one in from his right foot. None of these are great chances mind you, but Venezuela really struggling to get on the ball and Tata’s side look in complete control early on here.

4′ Now it’s Alvarado with a hit from 25 yards out. Bright start for El Tri. Collected simply enough this time.

2′ Mexico with the first attack of the night down the left flank. Ball in is lacking, but even before this settled in Martino’s side are looking to get it forward.

1′ And we’re off and running. Mexico moving left to right in the black kits as I see it. Venezuela in the all-white.

With just two matches before the Gold Cup for Mexico, and two before the Copa for Venezuela, they’ll both want to show well. Venezuela will be playing the United States on Sunday, while Mexico will round out their Gold Cup with a clash against Ecuador on the same day.

A couple of interesting choices from both managers, but for Mexico, it’s the front three that will be worth watching. How they play tonight could be big in who starts for Mexico’s revamped attack during the Gold Cup.

Here’s how the teams will come out tonight: Mexico XI:  Orozco; Navarro, Reyes, Araujo, Gallardo; C. Rodriguez, Alvarez, Gutierrez; Pizarro, Jimenez, Alvarado Venezuela XI: Farinez; Hernandez, Osorio, Villanueva, Rosales; Rincon, Herrera, Moreno, Machis, Murillo; Rondon
