Ligue 1 – PSG It wasn’t just a metatarsal injury
Paris Saint-Germain were without Neymar for the second leg of last season’s Champions League last 16 tie against Real Madrid, as the Brazilian had a torn ankle ligament.
This wasn’t known at the time, with the player instead believed to be out with a fifth metatarsal injury and considered to have a chance of playing in the build-up to that match in Paris.
Yet he has now revealed that it was even more serious than most people knew.
“With the injury I suffered in the French Cup, as well as a metatarsal injury I also had a problem in the ankle,” he has now revealed in an interview with Globo Esporte.
“I had also torn the ligament and the recovery was more painful because of that.”
The Brazilian is currently recovering from his latest injury in Brazil.
