Sebastian Giovinco‘s three-year exile from the Italian national team is over.
The Toronto FC forward was named to Roberto Mancini’s latest Azzurri roster on Friday morning, with Italy set to play Ukraine in a friendly on October 10, then visit Poland for a UEFA Nations League match on October 14.

One of the greatest players in MLS history, “The Atomic Ant” was last called up to represent his country for Euro 2016 qualifying action in October 2015. Giovinco has scored 12 goals and 14 assists in MLS play this season, running his career totals to 67 goals and 51 assists in 111 league appearances.
His most recent strike came in last week’s 4-1 victory over New England, a result that kept Toronto’s long-shot playoff hopes alive:
He’s also shined in Concacaf Champions League and Canadian Championship play, helping TFC reach the CCL final earlier this year and leading the Reds to their historic treble campaign in 2017.
