If FootMercato are to be believed, then Tottenham have just made their first big move on the transfer market this summer.
Via their journalist Dahbia Hattabi on Twitter, the French outlet are claiming that Spurs have put forward a bid of €25m for Nice’s Alassane Pléa.
The 25-year-old forward, who can play through the middle or a bit wider if need be, has been the subject of quite a bit of speculation this summer after bagging 21 goals in 49 appearances last season in a side where he isn’t the main attraction.
Having to make do with playing second fiddle to Mario Balotelli, Pléa would end up having to do the same at Tottenham with Harry Kane, but he would give Mauro Pochettino another option down the left if required.
However, Dahbia Hattabi also points out that the forward isn’t Tottenham’s first choice for the role, with Manchester United’s Anthony Martial their plan A should the opportunity to pick up the 22-year-old present itself.
