Mauro Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara has criticised Ivan Perisic after he reacted angrily when Inter Milan teammate Matteo Politano celebrated a goal in a similar way to Icardi.
Icardi has not featured for Inter since being stripped of the club captaincy 10 days ago, but Nara has said he does not want to leave.
Perisic reacted when Politano cupped his ears in a celebration reminiscent of Icardi when his goal gave Inter a 2-1 lead in their 3-3 draw at Fiorentina on Sunday.
Croatia international Perisic later made it 3-1 from the penalty spot, but the home side pulled one back before levelling with a penalty in the 11th minute of added time.
“We were all stood watching Perisic’s penalty, but does that gesture we’ve seen help us be relaxed? It doesn’t,” Nara told Mediaset.
“There are so many injustices in football, like this penalty [to Fiorentina] and the behaviour of Perisic, or even leaving Icardi at home — somebody who has given everything for Inter and is being made out to be a monster, which he isn’t.”
Icardi was at the San Siro to watch Inter’s win over Sampdoria a week ago, but coach Luciano Spalletti appeared to criticise him for not coming to the dressing room to join the celebrations.
“I’ve had enough of this rubbish — he’s going into the dressing room every single day,” Nara said. “Where do you think he’s receiving his physiotherapy?
“He’s not done anything, it’s all just non-existent drama.”
It is not clear whether Icardi is an option to play in Friday’s game against Cagliari, although Spalletti has said he hopes to “have him back soon.”
