UEFA are considering switching Champions League fixtures from midweek to the weekend from 2021.
Changes to the current structure cannot be made during the current three-year cycle with television rights already sold.
But UEFA and the European Club Association (ECA) are keen to make the alteration thereafter, report Marca.
There is reportedly a split of opinion among Europe’s biggest clubs over the change, with some preferring to keep the matches on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
While nothing has yet been decided upon, UEFA and the ECA did strike a deal on Thursday to work together on European football until 2024.

The new 32-team competition set to be introduced in 2021 and how it will be implemented will be among the topics up for discussion.
But UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin is adamant plans for a European Super League will not come to fruition.
“There will be no European Super League,” he confirmed at UEFA’s congress meeting in Rome on Thursday.
