Sunzu on target in France

Zambian defensive kingpin Stophila Sunzu was on target for his French Life two side FC Metz who played out to a 1-1 draw with Troyes on Friday Evening.

The lanky defender started the match in the heart of defence together with Ghanaian defender John Boye with whom they have made a strong central defensive pair. Mamadou Fofana, Farid Boulaya and Habib Diallo started in attack with Ibrahima Niane starting from the bench.

The match came on the back of a huge three nil derby win over AS Nancy. Metz started strong and they threatened first through Farid Boulaya but his shot went just inches wide OOF the goal.

Metz had their lead five minutes from half time as Sunzu rose highest to meet a Farid Boulaya corner with a powerful header.

The Zambian turned from hero to villain seventeen minutes into the second half as he slipped in the penalty area and took Jonathan Tinhan, The referee pointed to the spot and Kévin Fortuné made it 1-1.

The two teams settled for a point each. Despite the draw Metz remain top of the Domino’s Ligue 2 table.

Next up for them is US Orleans in the 1/8 round of the Coupe de France on Tuesday.
