Sunderland’s star striker Josh Maja has completed a transfer to French club Bordeaux.
The 20-year-old’s days at the League One club appeared to be numbered when the Black Cats’ chief executive, Stewart Donald, confirmed he had played his last game for them.

There has been plenty of interest in the young striker, who turned down a new contract worth seven times his current salary at the Stadium of Light.
Tottenham Hotspur were one of the clubs rumoured to be very keen on signing the striker who scored 15 goals in 24 games for the promotion chasers this season.
Ligue 1 side have Bordeaux won the race for Maja in a deal reported to be around £3.5million and he has signed a contract until 2023.
Sunderland now face the prospect of replacing their star man to ensure their season does not slip away.
Jack Ross’ men are currently lying third in League One, just four points off the leaders Portsmouth.
