Midfielder Hannes van der Bruggen, captain of Belgian side FC Kortrijk, is attracting interest from an un-named MLS club, according to a Belgian outlet.
The report indicates a move to MLS remains unlikely, but not totally out of the realm of possibility.
The 25-year-old Van Der Bruggen has spent his entire career in his home country, and was part of the Gent side that won the 2014-15 Belgian league title. He moved two seasons later to Kortrik, a side that has never finished higher than fourth in the Belgian first division.
In total, Van Der Bruggen has scored seven goals in 179 Belgian league appearances, and has also played in 16 Europa League playoff matches. He has also played for Belgium’s U-19 and U-21 sides.
