Everton have told Idrissa Gueye’s agent that they will not let his client move in this month’s transfer window.
Paris Saint-Germain are keen to land a midfielder in the current transfer window without breaking the bank and are assessing several options.
Gueye has been identified as a potential signing, but Everton are not playing ball.
Despite suggestions that PSG have opened talks to land the midfielder, according to French outlet Foot Mercato, Everton have spoken to Gueye’s agent to communicate a clear message.
The Toffees have told the midfielder’s representative that there is no way a deal can happen in this month’s transfer window.
Everton do not want to have to replace Gueye this month and have stuck a not for sale sign on him.
It is also suggested that no talks have been held between PSG and Everton.
PSG still have other irons in the fire in the shape of Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure and Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Weigl.
And if a transfer is to happen for Gueye this month, the player will likely have to push hard for it.
