Kylian Mbappe wraps up TENTH Ligue 1 win of the season while Neymar is rested after Barcelona transfer speculation

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN did not need Neymar to storm to their TENTH league win in a row against Amiens.

The Brazil superstar – who has been heavily linked with a return to Barcelona this week – was not even named on the bench for the Amiens thrashing at the Parc des Princes.

PSG romped to their tenth Ligue 1 win of the season against Amiens

Instead, PSG boss Thomas Tuchel gave him a few days off after playing in the 1-0 win over Argentina on Tuesday.

His replacement Angel Di Maria, starting alongside Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani, proved vital by setting up two goals from corner kicks.

Di Maria’s 12th-minute cross was headed in by Marquinhos and Adrien Rabiot scored from an almost identical situation three minutes before the break.

It should have been 3-0 moments later, but Cavani somehow shot wide when he had an open goal.

PSG’s all-time leading scorer then headed Di Maria’s superb cross wide early in the second half.

Germany winger Julian Draxler started and finished a move, finding left back Juan Bernat with a pass and heading home Bernat’s deflected cross in the 81st.

One minute later, France World Cup winner Mbappe collected a quick pass from Moussa Diaby and curled a shot through the legs of a defender into the bottom corner for his ninth league goal.

Diaby himself showed quick feet to dribble past three defenders and slot home the fifth.

The thumping win gives PSG some much-needed momentum headed into Wednesday’s Champions League game at home to Napoli.

The French giants are third behind the Italians and Liverpool in Group C and in risk of failing to progress to the knockout stages.
