CAF, UEFA evaluate AFCON Under-17 qualifiers

CAF and UEFA have completed an evaluation of the recently-concluded Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The qualifiers for next year’s showpiece in Tanzania were, for the first time, organized as one-off tournaments by the six CAF zones.

According to CAF, the two confederations evaluated and brainstormed ideas on key aspects such as Competitions, Development, Medical, Media and Marketing.

“It was a successful meeting, which has opened the way for future editions of the competition. The support of UEFA was immense and positive towards the development of players and coaches involved in youth football,” CAF Deputy General Secretary, Anthony Baffoe, was quoted by Cafonline.

Heads of Development and International Relations Jean Francois Domergue and Eva Pasquier and Youth Development Manager Olivier Doglia represented UEFA.
