According to the latest reports, Barcelona is willing to launch a bid for Paris Saint Germain Superstar Adrien Rabiot this summer transfer window.
After losing legendary Spanish midfielder Andres Iniesta this summer, Barcelona has signed up three midfielders to replace the void left by the 34-year-old but are still looking at alternatives. Iniesta left the Camp Nou after 16 years to join Japanese club Vissel Kobe and Paulinho also left Barcelona leaving a gaping hole in the centre of the pitch to be filled up. Arthur Melo, Malcolm and most recently Arturo Vidal completed a switch to the Camp Nou, Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde wants to have suitable options for his midfield.
Inside News-
According to news outlet Calciomercato, La Blaugrana is eyeing a move for Paris Saint Germain star Adrien Rabiot before the end of the month. With just a week left in the summer transfer window, Barcelona is hoping that the French champions will agree to negotiate a deal for Rabiot to the La Liga champions.
Rabiot did not manage to make the squad for France at the FIFA World Cup but was on standby for Didier Deschamps but the midfielder has stated his desire to leave the Parc Des Princes to join Barcelona this summer. PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has asked Rabiot to remain at the home of the Ligue 1 giants but is still unsure whether the 23-year-old will pledge his future or not.
Barcelona, in the meanwhile, is preparing a bid worth €50 million to lure Rabiot to the La Liga, but they will face stiff competition if they choose to wait until next season when Rabiot will be a free agent in the summer of 2019.
Author’s Take-
I don’t think that Rabiot will be able to break into Barcelona’s first team and therefore he should stick to playing football at Paris Saint Germain. However, if he chooses to improve and work on his game, Barcelona is the right destination for most of the young talents looking to win major honors.
