JULIAN DRAXLER is poised to leave Paris Saint-Germain this month, according to reports.
The German forward, 24, appears in line for a return to his homeland with Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and former club Schalke tracking him.
Julian Draxler was named as a substitute for PSG’s opening-day win over Caen
Le 10 Sport report that PSG boss Thomas Tuchel will consider selling Draxler following the arrival of Thilo Kehrer from Schalke for £33.1million.
German starlet Kehrer, 21, primarily operates as a central defender but Tuchel is said to be considering him for a midfield role if needed.
That could allow Draxler a move away to reignite his career away from the French champions.
Draxler joined PSG for £30m from Wolfsburg two years ago but has struggled to hold down a place in their starting XI.
He started 19 league games last season and made a further 11 appearances from the bench.
Draxler came on in the second half against Caen on Sunday
Thilo Kehrer could step into midfield if Julian Draxler is sold by PSG
And he does not appear to in Tuchel’s thoughts for a midfield role after Lassana Diara, Adrien Rabiot and Antoine Bernede were given the nod for PSG’s opening-day win over Caen.
The 46-cap star is battling Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani and Angel Di Maria for a place in PSG’s three-man attack.
Despite the absence of Mbappe and Cavani, he began on the bench against Caen on Sunday and replaced Di Maria in the second half.
Draxler has three years left on his PSG contract and is unlikely to be sold on the cheap.
He started his country’s two opening matches at the World Cup but was not picked for the 2-0 defeat to South Korea which confirmed Germany’s humiliating exit.
