TRANSFER TRACKER: Report
Despite MLS’s Secondary Transfer Window having recently closed, clubs can still add to their rosters by signing free agents up until the 2018 Roster Freeze on September 14. Orlando City SC will reportedly take advantage.
According to reporter Franco Panizo on Twitter on Friday, the Lions are close to signing Peruvian international Carlos Ascues. He was most recently with Alizana Lima in Peru, but according to Panizo had a clause that would release him from his contract should a foreign offer be received.
Two sources with knowledge of the information have confirmed to me that the reports out of Peru are accurate. Carlos Ascues is currently in Central Florida and officially joining Orlando City. #OCSC #MLS

Ascues, 26, can play as a central defender or defensive midfielder and recently played for Wolfsburg in Germany. He’s appeared for Benfica B and FBC Melgar in his career.
Orlando City have conceded the most goals in MLS this season, 54, which has led to league’s worst goal differential at -19.
