Lewandowski assures Barcelona fans: No thoughts about Saudi and US

Robert Lewandowski says he’s fully committed to Barcelona.

The Poland striker hit a hat-trick in victory over Valencia.

He has been linked with Saudi clubs and there’s also rumours that Atletico Madrid are showing interest.

However, the 35-year-old says he has no intention of leaving Barcelona this summer.

“Saying goodbye (to Barcelona) is definitely out of the question for me (this summer). I feel physically well again now. I had physical problems in the first half of the season. Things got better in 2024,” Lewandowski told Bild.

“As long as I continue to feel as good as I do now and notice in training that no one is running away from me, I want to continue playing. Today I can say: This will continue for at least two more years. Only when I notice that I am no longer physically at peak level and am in pain would I start thinking. That is not the case.

“I haven’t cared about (Saudi Arabia) for a second so far. Neither Saudi Arabia nor the United States. It doesn’t make sense at the moment.

“Sometimes it’s about what my heart and my head say. At 38 years old and the pain comes, I have to ask myself: Do I even want to continue? But I don’t want to plan that far ahead. At the moment I say: I can definitely play at the highest level until 2026.”
