Barcelona coach Xavi insists his future isn’t important ahead of facing Napoli in the Champions League tomorrow.
While he will leave the job in June, it’s been suggested Xavi could depart sooner if Barca lose to Napoli.
Xavi said: “It is the most important game, yes. We are prepared, the word is illusion. We haven’t been in the quarterfinals for four years. We want to compete and tomorrow we face a great rival. Golden opportunity. We need a full field to experience a magical night.
“Napoli have improved, they are more dynamic, more comfortable on the field. We have very important casualties but we arrived well. We want to show how well we are working. We were better there and we want to be better here.
“We have to turn it around and see it as an opportunity for us. We play in front of our fans. We must compete and show our football. We are not afraid of failing but we want to show that we can compete at this level.
“I have an expiration date and tomorrow I am not important. It is an important match for the club. You have to live it as an opportunity, you have to be united. I don’t prioritise my situation.”
