Manchester City chief exec Ferran Soriano has confirmed they have control of Savio.
The Brazilian winger is on-loan at Girona from Troyes, with both clubs owned by City Football Group (CFG). Along with City, Soriano is also chief exec of CFG.
He told RAC-1: “Savinho will stay in Girona until the end of the season and I think he will stay for more seasons.
“He was a player who was on loan at PSV and barely played. He will not move from here.”
Soriano was reacting to this morning’s news in the Catalan press that Savio is a target for Barcelona.
He added: “What can happen to us is that a club comes and pays the termination clause, although that club will have to convince the player, and that will not be easy.”
