Barcelona coach Xavi insists there’s no panic ahead of facing Alaves today.
Barca go into the game on the back of their Champions League defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in Hamburg.
Xavi said, “We lost in Hamburg without making a good match. But the attitude has never failed. This team still wants to win titles. The group is very close, it is very healthy. We are on the right track as a group, as a family.
“I had the worst moment as a coach last year. This has nothing to do with anything. This is not a crisis or anything like that. Last year was delicate, but without reaching a crisis.
“I have experienced terrible crises here and this is not it.
“You (the media) have beaten me all my life. One gets used to it and gets used, almost, to criticism. This is Barça and we have to accept criticism. We have had two bad games and we have to be honest. We have not been up to par. This works like this. Unfortunately, you get used to it.”
On the midweek chat with president Joan Laporta, he added: “We talk after every game. If I am positive, one of the few people who surpasses me is the president. He is very calm. He has the utmost confidence in the team.”
