Following his exclusive interview with ESPN FC, Mark Ogden tries to decode the two positions Jose Mourinho might like to reinforce this transfer window.
Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is poised to join Scunthorpe on loan, sources have told ESPN FC.
Borthwick-Jackson rose to prominence in the 2015-16 season when he made 14 appearances under former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal.
The left-back has struggled to make an impact under Jose Mourinho, though, and is well down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
Borthwick-Jackson has had spells out on loan at Wolves and Leeds during the last two seasons and United are ready to loan him out again as he does not figure in Mourinho’s plans next season.
A number of Football League clubs have shown an interest in Borthwick-Jackson this summer, but Scunthorpe look to have won the race for his services this campaign.
