Barcelona manager Xavi admits that he felt Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta would be great at his job.
Arteta is leading Arsenal to a possible Premier League title this season, if they can maintain their form.
Xavi is also having an excellent season, as Barca are eight points clear of Real Madrid in La Liga.
“No, he’s not surprised me because he had the best references,” he said to reporters of Arteta this week.
“Pepe Reina is a close friend of his and has always spoken very well of him.
“I had a feeling that Arteta would do very well, but it was just a feeling.”
