Cruz Azul president Victor Velazquez admits they’re seeking to sign Luis Suarez.
The former Barcelona and Liverpool striker is a free agent after leaving Nacional Montevideo before the World Cup.
“There is nothing new yet, but we have negotiated with Luis Suarez and would very much like him to join the club,” said Velazquez.
“We just have to be patient.”
The 35 year-old competed at the World Cup with Uruguay.
