Pablo Torre was thrilled to make his Champions League debut with Barcelona last night.
Torre made a second-half appearance as Barca thrashed Viktoria Plzen 5-1.
He later said, “I am very happy, it is one of the happiest days of my life. When we were scoring more goals, I did think that I could have a few minutes. In the end, this is daily work. I have to continue and take advantage of the minutes that the coach gives me.
“Xavi said to enjoy, play fast and that in the end this doesn’t happen very often.
“It’s inexplicable. I don’t know how many people there were, about 70,000… It generates extra motivation for you. Support is very important for us, it’s a long and difficult season and I’m sure we can do great things with them.
“The squad is very large, it is one of the best in the world, if not the best, and I must take advantage of the minutes and value it. I must thank the coach for the confidence he is giving me, because it is not easy for such a young boy to come to Barça and that people trust me.”
