Bayern Munich are interested in Chelsea attacker Kai Havertz.
It’s been revealed Bayern wanted to send Barcelona summer signing Robert Lewandowski to Chelsea to set up an exchange for Havertz.
Sport 1 chief reporter Kerry Hau revealed: “We heard that Bayern would have preferred to put Lewandowski at Chelsea to bring Havertz to Munich.”
But the report goes on to state that despite Lewandowski heading to Barca, Havertz will continue to be on Bayern’s radar.
The 23-year-old will continued to be watched by Bayern chiefs with the view of a move in the future.
Bayern have a good relationship with Havertz’s player agency ROOF.
Hau continued: “Havertz is a player that those responsible find interesting.
“[Sporting director] Salihamidzic would have liked to have brought him in at Leverkusen, and Uli Hoeneß would have liked to have had him in Munich, too.”
