Barcelona plan long-term contract offer for Bayern Munich striker Lewandowski

Barcelona are preparing a long-term contract offer for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

Sport says reaching an agreement with Lewandowski should not be difficult because the player is keen for a change of scenery and his agent, Pini Zahavi, is close to Barça president Joan Laporta.

Barça are prepared to hand Lewandowski a four-year contract until 2026 and give him the chance to lead Xavi Hernandez‘s sporting project.

Xavi, who currently has Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doing a very good job of leading the line, wants a start striker who guarantees goals and links play in line with his idea of the game.

Barça feel Lewandowski has at least two more years at the top, until 2024, due to the professionalism and quality he has. The numbers are there for everyone to see in recent years: 339 goals in 366 games for Bayern. And his goals in the last four seasons, for example: 40, 55, 48 and 45.

Barça need a star and are thinking of Lewandowski to fill the gap left by Lionel Messi last summer. With a star in their ranks, they would be more attractive to sponsors globally.
