Aubameyang responds to Arsenal tribute after joining Barcelona

Former captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has responded to Arsenal‘s social media tribute after signing for Barcelona.

The Gabon striker fell out with manager Mikel Arteta this season, and was stripped of the captaincy recently.

He has now departed for Barca on a free transfer, with Arsenal wishing the forward well on their social media channels and website.

Their statement announced the transfer, listed Aubameyang’s accomplishments, and added a final line.

“We wish Auba all the best for the next chapter in his career and thank him for his contribution to the club,” it read.

Aubameyang responded to the club’s tweet with a red heart emoji.
