Guinea Football Federation has written to Barcelona president Joan Laporta after the international commitment of Ilaix Moriba.
The 18 year-old has decided to play for the nation of his mother, despite performing for Spain right up to the U19 level.
In the letter, the Federation confirmed “Moriba Kourouma Kourouma’s decision to play now with Guinea” and thanked Barcelona and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
The Federation congratulated Barça for “the training” of Ilaix and for the “fair play” shown when accepting the free choice of the player.
Guinea are now accelerating things to cut red-tape with the aim of Ilaix making his competitive debut as quickly as possible.
