Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was overruled by the higher ups over his wish to keep Gini Wijnaldum.
The Athletic reports Klopp saw his wishes overlooked by FSG in allowing Wijnaldum to leave on a free transfer to PSG this summer.
Klopp was adamant that Dutch midfielder Wijnaldum was still in his plans when FSG gave the green light for his release.
The Dutchman eventually left for PSG, turning down Barcelona in the process.
The report follows the rumour that contract talks between Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson have stalled, fuelling concern over the lack of control the Reds boss has over his squad.
