Anderlecht have been judged to have violated Article 19 (3) of Uefa Safety & security regulations.

The Uefa Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body issued a statement on their website on Monday.

They said: “RSC Anderlecht is ordered to contact FC Bayern München within 15 days to compensate their supporters  with an amount of 30€ (£26.66) per ticket to those away fans located in the upper tier section (sections S14, S15, S16 and S17).”

Bayern fans were left incensed after being overcharged, and launched a protest Constant Vanden Stock Stadium, where they threw fake €500 notes onto the pitch.

Munich were fined £18,000 as a result of the public stunt, as supporters held up a banner which read: “Is your gr€€d now finally satisfied?”

Bayern fan group Club Nr. 12 welcomes the decision from Uefa, they said in a Facebook statement: “Club No. 12 welcomes UEFA’s decision to award RSC Anderlecht a refund of € 30 per ticket for inappropriate ticket prizes in the game against FC Bayern on 22.11.2017.

This ruling is a big step towards a fairer treatment of guest fans in European football. Despite this positive development, we must point out that both the protests at the Anderlecht match and the now sanctioned RSC Anderlecht would have been avoidable.

“Immediately after the ticket prices were published, UEFA was confronted with the complaints of Bayern fans both by FC Bayern and by the European fan organization FSE. It took more than three months for UEFA to agree with the fans.

“Obviously, UEFA’s sometimes unclear rules regarding ticket prices for guest fans also contributed to this long processing time.”

While they also added: “We also hope that the fans of Paris St. Germain, who had to pay the same ticket prices in the match against RSC Anderlecht, will now also receive a refund.

“Finally, we would like to congratulate the Legal Department of FC Bayern for their negotiating skills in the case against RSC Anderlecht.”

The Jupiler Pro League outfit will have to fork out close to £24,000 on paying back supporters.
