Jason Kreis has been silent since his departure from Orlando City SC on June 15, but on Saturday the former head coach released a letter to fans on his Twitter account.
Kreis, who posted a 21-29-14 record with the Lions across three seasons, defended his 2018 roster, saying “injuries, international call-ups and other factors” got in the way of the remade squad getting results. While he wished the club and city the best of luck and called Orlando a “special place,” Kreis also noted he was “bitterly disappointed” with how his tenure ended in Florida, after a six-game winning streak in league play was followed by a six-game losing streak, which has since been extended to an eight-game losing run.
