According to a leaked report, UEFA found a lack of “credibility” in the plan by current owner Yonghong Li and the current Milan board as to how they would achieve a break-even point and stop the losses from accumulating. They also questioned how exactly Li would come up with the money to pay off the sizable loan to Elliott Management.
All of this means that UEFA seems to be upset with the current owner, not the “previous actions” the board has tried to pin the penalties on. With more reports that Li may be selling the club sooner rather than later, maybe it’s best if Li and Milan go their separate ways.
