Barcelona candidate Laporta apologises to Tusquets over pressure for Man City defender Garcia

Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta has apologised to interim president Carles Tusquets.

Laporta has sent another letter to the chairman of Barcelona‘s managing committee, Tusquets, to apologise and make clear that he had no intention of threatening him over his handling of Eric Garcia‘s potential signing.

Tusquets blamed the Barcelona presidential candidate for threatening him for making decisions concerning the Manchester City centre-back’s future before the elections, which are scheduled for March 7.

“I apologise that you have considered my requests and reflections as threats,” Laporta stated in his letter, as reported by Catalunya Radio.

“The objective was to show the limits that, in my opinion, the managing committee has.

“Carles, I understand that your nervousness is a consequence of you living a situation that is not easy at all.”
