Pedri becomes fourth youngest goalscorer in Barcelona history

Pedri continues to make waves for Barcelona after scoring in victory over Real Betis.

With his goal in the 5-2 win over Real Betis on Saturday, Pedri became the fourth youngest goalscorer in the club’s history in LaLiga Santander at an age of 17 years and 348 days.

He became just the fourth player to score before celebrating his 18th birthday, following on from Fati, Bojan Krkic and Lionel Messi.

Last season, Fati smashed the record as he scored after just seven minutes on the pitch against Osasuna, registering a goal at the age of 16 years and 304 days, beating Bojan’s 17 years and 53 days and Messi’s 17 years and 311 days.

Ronald Koeman gave Pedri his fifth start of the season and he completed the full 90 minutes for the second time this campaign, taking advantage of the chance given to him by the Dutch coach.
