Barcelona finance chief Jordi Moix: Priority is to cut squad numbers

Barcelona finance chief Jordi Moix has revealed they’re planning for several major sales this summer.

While management are keen to strengthen the squad, Moix says the priority is to first find buyers for their fringe players.

He said, “The priority is to maintain the competitiveness of the squad, but with a sustainable economy.

“What we have agreed is that first we have to ensure outbound transfers and based on this, we can contemplate additions.

“We have 33 or 34 players, counting those who are on loan and will come back, and the idea is to move to a squad with fewer players.”
