Quique Setien has been named new coach of Barcelona.
Barcelona, after announcing the sacking of Ernesto Valverde, have appointed Setien as their new coach.
The club published a statement explaining that the 61-year-old veteran will take the reins until the end of the season. Valverde was axed after the team were defeated by Atletico Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup.
Setien takes charge of a side well placed in the main competitions, top of La Liga and in the Champions League last 16, where they face Napoli. They will be in the Copa del Rey too, starting in January.
Quique’s former sides are Betis, Las Palmas, Lugo, Logrones, Polideportivo Ejido and Racing. He played for Atletico Madrid and racing as a player.
