Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu says offloading Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the right call.
Selling the Swede was one of the first decisions as president Bartomeu made in 2010 after his election. Ibrahimovic scored 22 goals that season, but Bartomeu admits he upset the locker room dynamic.
He recalled to La Repubblica: “Ibrahimovic? I experienced his arrival as a fan and thought he was a great buy.
“In the meantime, we won the election and it was our turn to sell him, losing a lot of money. But in the end, it was the thing to do for the sake of the locker room and Ibra himself.
“I like Zlatan because he’s a direct guy who tells you things to the face.”
