With one game remaining in the Absa Premiership, Stars have already set their sights on improving their squad ahead of 2018/19.

Currently in sixth place, Ea Lla Koto have been one of the surprise packages under the guidance of Eymael, and could still finish as high as fourth in the league.

The club’s current top scorer Mohammed Anas, with six goals in all competitions, is out of contract at the end of the season. And reports surfacing in Kenyan media claim former Auxerre and Nantes forward Dennis Oliech is closing in on a move to South Africa’s top tier.

Oliech, 33, who can play out wide as well as in a centre-forward role, scored 31 goals and registered 24 assists in 217 games in France’s top-flight and played a solitary season in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League – alongside European giants Real Madrid, AFC Ajax and AC Milan in the 2010/11 campaign.

While Eymael conceded Kenya’s record scorer has been training with the club, he stopped short at confirming Oliech has agreed on a contract.

“He’s been with us and impressed me in training but it’s not that simple,” he told KickOff.com. “He’s currently in a meeting right now with general manager Rantsi Mokoena discussing terms, but I’m not sure about the situation yet.

“What I can say, is that I would like to have him part of the squad and we have informed him to return for pre-season on the 18th, but we are also assessing a tall Nigerian striker who played in Belgium.

“We will have to see what happens, with only two foreign spots open and Anas’s contract also coming to an end soon, I can’t confirm definite answers right now.”
