Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has walked back threats made regarding the Germany status of Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Hoeness had threatened Bayern would stop their players joining the Germany squad if Manuel Neuer was replaced as No1 by Ter Stegen.
But Bayern have now released a statement to rule out such action:
“Immediately after our match of the Champions League against Red Star, Mr. Hoeness made statements about the debate around the goalkeeper in the German team that today, with distance, would not do again.
“For him, the issue is settled and there will be no new statement from him.”
