Peru vs Brazil Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

The top two sides in Group A of the Copa America meet on Saturday as Brazil face Peru in Sao Paulo.

The hosts were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw by Venezuela in their previous game, yet the Selecao should still make it through to the knockout stages as group winners with a victory this weekend.

Latest odds

The five-time World Cup winners have lost just one of their last 28 matches in all competitions and bet365 offer them at 1/3 (1.33) to pick up three points.

Peru recorded a famous win against Brazil in the last edition of the Copa America in 2016 beating their more illustrious neighbours 1-0 and Ricardo Gareca’s men are priced at 17/2 (8.50) with the draw at 17/4 (5.25)

Team news

Arthur came into the side in midfield for Brazil against Venezuela and the Barcelona man will look to keep his place ahead of Fernandinho.

Both Everton and Gabriel Jesus have started the previous two games on the bench, but both will be pushing for a starting berth. Peru are likely to stick with a similar starting eleven that beat Bolivia 3-1 last time out.

Preview

Brazil were booed off the pitch after failing to win their second match, and while they found the back of the net three times against Venezuela all three goals were subsequently ruled out by VAR. Their opening game meanwhile saw them put three past Bolivia and there is no doubt that the hosts possess significant firepower when they click.

The tournament favourites remain a defensively strong outfit, yet to concede a goal in the tournament and having kept clean sheets in 13 of their last 16 matches in all competitions.

If they can keep another clean sheet against a Peru side that has failed to score in three of their last five games, then Brazil should be able to record the win they need to top the group.

Tips and predictions

Brazil are available at 4/5 (1.80) to keep another clean sheet, while they can be backed at 21/20 (2.05) to win with a -1 handicap, which looks tempting given their defensive prowess and attacking potential.
