Monaco suffered a shock 3-1 defeat at Guingamp in Ligue 1 on Saturday evening, where they played almost 70 minutes with 10 men.
Leonardo Jardim’s side saw rivals Paris St Germain wrench the Ligue 1 title from their grasp last weekend with a 7-1 thrashing.
After another demoralising defeat, Monaco are now just a point ahead of Lyon and Marseille, who earlier hammered strugglers Lille 5-1.
Monaco got off to the worst possible start at Stade du Roudourou, with defender Jemerson shown a red card after just 21 minutes for handling on the line from Marcus Thuram’s shot. Guingamp captain Jimmy Briand made no mistake from the spot.

Yassine Benzia netted a consolation for the visitors early in the second half, before Lucas Ocampos completed the rout with an angled drive after being played in by Dimitri Payet.
Marseille moved level on 69 points with third-placed Lyon, who have also now played 34 games, while Lille remain second bottom.
Toulouse, though, boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 home win over Angers.
Yaya Sanogo opened the scoring from close range just before half-time with Max Gradel making sure of three crucial points from the penalty spot in the 60th minute.
Bottom club Metz had to settle for a draw with Caen, which leaves them seven points adrift of 17th place.
An own goal from Damien Da Silva had put the hosts in front in the 71st minute, but the lead did not last long as Jessy Deminguet equalised soon after.
Strasbourg remain a point ahead of Toulouse after losing 3-1 at Amiens.
Thomas Monconduit put the hosts in front just before half-time. Harisson Manzala added a second on the break with 11 minutes left.
Gael Kakuta fired home a third in stoppage time, with Idriss Saadi then netting a late consolation for Strasbourg.
