Barcelona coach Xavi is confident in his job facing Champions League opponents Napoli.
It’s been suggested Xavi will be dismissed should they be beaten tonight.
He said, “For us it is excitement, hope, motivation… to advance to the quarterfinals. It is the biggest competition between clubs. Ideal setting to play a great game, to demonstrate everything we have worked for.
“It is true that Napoli has changed the coach surprisingly, 48 hours before the game, but he knows the house. With the change of coach we do not know exactly what the game will bring us. Napoli is a great rival and above all I would highlight their three forwards.”
“It is at 50-50. We are teams that have just won the League. For them it is not a good season, for us it is irregular. I will leave that we’re favourite or not to you. We have to prove it tomorrow at 9:00 p.m. and in a couple of weeks. It’s time to talk on the field.”
Of his future, Xavi said: “We don’t play to shut people up, we play for the fans, for ourselves, for prestige. The focus is not on criticism or injustice. The focus is that we are in the second round, it is a magnificent setting to enjoy and compete.
“I don’t feel like my future is at stake now. I have immense enthusiasm and motivation.”
