Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo are fully behind Xavi after their 5-3 home defeat to Villarreal.
Araujo was speaking before Xavi announced he would leave at the end of the season.
He said: “Very sad about the result. Own mistakes. I take responsibility. We have to be more responsible. Those at the top escape us. We have to be self-critical.
“Villarreal‘s third is a loss. We have to be better when we lose the ball. We have to have more concentration. In the last play I also assume responsibility. There are moments in which we have to be more direct. We have to lift our heads, continue working.
On Xavi, he added: “There is confidence, of course. He is our coach. Since he arrived he has added a lot. We have just won LaLiga, the Super Cup, two titles, not anything. It is almost the same team, with a few more who joined. Lift our heads, all together and we have to continue.”
