Osasuna coach Jagoba Arrasate blasted ref Alejandro Muniz Ruiz after their Spanish Cup semifinal defeat to Barcelona.
Osasuna lost 2-0 in Riyadh with Arrasate convinced Muniz Ruiz’s officiating went in Barca’s favour for Robert Lewandowski‘s opening goal.
He said: “The criteria has been different throughout the game. We have seen it very clearly and it has been decisive in the game. It may not be reviewable in the VAR, but we are surprised by the different criteria he has applied.
“If they are allowed to play, they should let both teams play and this has not been the case.
“We’ve had our moments, but in these games you need efficiency. The goal has changed everything. We have had the opportunity to get ahead. With (Mario) Budimir’s we were able to get ahead and the game could change.
“I’m not saying that Barcelona‘s victory was unfair, but we had our chances. We have many things left to do throughout the season.”
Arrasate added, “We have felt supported by our fans and we can tell them that we are already thinking about the Cup match. The eleven that played was the best for today. We haven’t thought about next week.”
