Barcelona sports chief Deco admits their Champions League clash with Napoli is as difficult as it gets.
Barca and Napoli will meet in the round of 16 after today’s draw.
Deco, who was in Nyon for the ceremony, said: “It’s been a while since I’ve been back here. The last time I came was as a soccer player and this is a different experience. It’s a draw, we have to play. Napoli? There is plenty of time left, they are not at their best but they are the current League champions like us, I think it will be a tough game.
“There is no such thing as luck, it is the Champions League. It’s good to be here and not in the second draw, that of the Europa League. It’s good to have the feeling of being in the Champions League again after years without being there and whoever the opponent is, we have to prepare. We are talking about a Napoli league champion, it has players of a high level. In football, talking about luck is a bit meaningless.”
Deco added, “We knew we could play anyone. In the Champions there are variations of moments of form. There are teams that are good now and in February they may not be good and vice versa. Napoli have been in the Champions for many years now and are a powerful team. But now there are many games coming up, the month of January is tremendous with the Super Cup and the Cup in between.
“Napoli is very far away. First we have to focus on the day to day, on the League, on winning on Wednesday and we will surely be stronger again.”
