Barcelona chief Deco insists there’s no issue with coach Xavi.
Deco secured Xavi to a new deal earlier this season, though it only runs to 2025.
He said: “We have renewed the contract with Xavi and if we didn’t do it for more years it was because he didn’t want to.
“There is no discussion with this topic. Throughout the course, there will be moments that are not so good and in which we play better, but we know what we want.
“He is the LaLiga champion, he had a spectacular tournament and had the courage to arrive at a moment difficult.”
Deco added: “The criticism is a consequence of the expectation generated.
“We have quality players and people expect us to always win, but we know it is not easy.”
