The agent of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong has hit out at the local press.
Al Dursun has slammed claims De Jong missed the Champions League defeat to Antwerp after a bust-up with sports chief Deco. The official word was the midfielder was not considered due to a fever.
“This guy is a professional through and through,” Dursun told De Telegraaf. “He is simply a professional, a model player. Frenkie’s reputation is not touched because he always delivers. There was no shouting on the phone as claimed, no question marks. Things are now being created falsely.
“The relationship with Deco is simply good and stable.
“It is totally fake news. This is the biggest nonsense that has been spewed around Frenkie in a long time. The player was simply sick.
“He had symptoms of fever and could not travel or play.”
