Girona coach Michel says Aleix Garcia was wrong to say he wants to play for Barcelona.
Ahead of the Catalan derby this weekend, Garcia made the confession, so angering fans in the process.
Michel said: “Aleix made a mistake and that’s it. I remember a lot of when I played in the youth categories of Rayo, of the games in Vallecas against Madrid and there were more people celebrating Madrid’s goals than Rayo’s.
“I hope that in Girona the people are only from Girona, this is my message to our fans. We need people who are one hundred percent Girona.
“We have started a project where I think it is possible.”
