Former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart has called on Florentino Perez to attend the El Clasico.
The Real Madrid president won’t be making the trip to Barcelona tomorrow in protest against the social media post by a Barca board member against Vinicius Jr.
Gaspart has since responded, stating: “I hope that Florentine goes to the Clasico. Unless you explain the reason why you don’t come. When someone is offended, but receives apologies, what else do you want us to do? Get on our knees?
“I never missed a Clasico because I represented Barça, despite receiving notices from the Police that I should be careful because they wanted me to be stoned. If I had been an ordinary fan, I would not have gone.”
On Miquel Camps’ tweet, Gaspart also said: “I did not like the tweet, but I have also said quite a few barbarities about (Luis) Figo, for example. That is no reason not to go to the Clasico.
“If the only reason to miss the Clasico is a tweet, the truth is that Florentino is letting me down. I don’t know what the solution will be for him to come to Montjuic.”
